McCarthy Comes Out Fighting Against Wolves Fans
Mick McCarthy, manager of Premier League side Wolves, has unleashed a shock attack on the club’s supporters, labeling the fans who have spoken out about their lack of faith in McCarthy “mindless idiots”. The manager felt forced to speak out to the English sporting press after the weekend’s 2-2 draw against Premier League minnows Swansea at home. Ultimately the game made the headlines less for an admirable Wolves comeback from 2-0 down than for vocal chants from the home fans of “You’re getting sacked in the morning”.

Manchester City Thrash United On Home Turf
Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has spoken out about his feelings of surprise and embarrassment after witnessing his side shoot themselves in the foot on the way to a humiliating 6-1 defeat against an in-form Manchester City side. Ferguson was forced to watch on from the touchline as ever-controversial frontman Mario Balotelli and fellow striker Edin Dzeko scored two goals each, with Sergio Aguero and the sublime David Silva also finding the back of the net after United’s Jonny Evans was shown a red card.

Bent Could Play Star Role For England
Wayne Rooney has been handed a three-match ban for violent conduct by Uefa’s disciplinary panel, the members of the panel describing his kick on Miodrag Dzudovic last week during England’s 2-2 draw against Montenegro as an “assault”. The ban will keep him out of the group stages of next year’s European Championships, leaving Fabio Capello with a bit of a dilemma as he attempts to prepare his attacking unit for the tournament.
Rooney was said to be “shocked” and “disappointed” by the decision, despite some neutral pundits stating that the association were left with little choice following the striker’s mindless actions on the pitch last week, and England supporters have rightly been left furious at Rooney’s selfless “assault” leaving Capello with a dilemma up front.

Crouch Fears End Of International Career
30-year-old striker Peter Crouch fears he may never play again for the England national football team. November 2010 was the last time the Stoke City striker stepped out on to the pitch for the national side and he was thought to be upset to find himself completely left out of the recent squad that travelled to Montenegro for England’s final group game in the Euro 2012 qualification stages.
The striker’s opinion was revealed in the wake of Wayne Rooney’s red card against Montenegro. The Manchester United striker was sent off for a nasty kick at one of the Montenegro players and will now be banned for the start of next years’ European Championships.
