Bout number 48 for Chris John, the legendary featherweight world super champion will be fought later this month in Perth Australia against Stanyslav Merdov of Ukraine, currently ranked 11th in the WBA.

Chris has been training in Perth for the last 2 months and says he is ready for his first match against a European. “I don’t really know that much about Europe. I do know a lot about Australia cause my trainers are from there, but there’s a big difference between a doner kebab and a meat pie you know ! I will have to get some tapes of this Merdov dude and study them. so far all we’ve got are some Rocky 2 re-runs where Sly beats that Russian dude into a pulp. But that’s a way heavier class than where I fight.”
